Awaken

From the creative mind of dancer extraordinaire & rising choreographer Guero Charles, came a full-length dance show. It was an honor to manage this project, in its entirety, from ideation to closing day. This show ran in Guero’s hometown of Houston, TX, for 2 nights, and the cast of dancers included Houston locals as well as seasoned LA professionals. We helped coordinate everything from the beginning (securing the location/theatre & managing the contract, managing the photoshoot for cast announcements, reaching out to sponsors and building a rehearsal schedule), to the middle (helping organize rehearsals, building/designing programs, building/designing a step-and-repeat, securing cast gifts, designing/printing tickets), and to the end (helping manage tech rehearsals, setting up for show performances, helping with guest arrivals, etc).
Guero’s creativity is boundless and, throughout the months-long process, it was such a pleasure to work so closely in tandem with him to ensure every detail of this show was beyond what he had hoped for. It was an awesome challenge, with all of the moving parts involved, and an honor to help ensure Guero’s dream show became a reality.
